Position Summary
The
Concessions Worker
prepares and serves concession items to guests. Prepares and pours beverages and serves them to guests. Ensures the quality of food presentation. Operates a cash register and accepts payment. Must maintain excellent attendance in accordance with the attendance policy. The employee reports to the Concession Supervisor and/or the Director of Food and Beverage.

This role pays an hourly rate of $18.00-$21.00 CAD and is tip eligible.

About The Venue
Spanning over nine acres, the
South Okanagan Events Centre
(SOEC) is part of a larger complex. The SOEC Complex contains over 95,000 square feet of meeting space and three ice sheets. While overseeing the Okanagan's premier sports and entertainment venue, Oak View Group also manages the Penticton Trade and Convention Centre, Memorial Arena, and Okanagan Hockey School Training Centre.

Responsibilities

• Conduct the cash register sales by taking orders, building orders, and completing the transaction.
• Ability to build orders, prepare food, and knowledge in all areas of concessions operations.
• Responsible for maintaining stock and supply levels and communicating to the Concessions Stand Manger of low stock items.
• Listening and responding to customer requests or concerns.
• Responsible for maintaining a clean and organized workspace including but not limited to disposal of garbage & cleaning dishes.
• Serve beverages to guests including alcoholic beverages responsibly.
• Must check guest's ID in accordance with provincial regulations to verify minimum age requirement for purchase of alcoholic beverages.
• Maintains sanitation, health and safety standards in work areas.
• Required shifts are during the evening and weekends.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Three or more months' experience in food service industry preferred but not necessary.
• Previous cash handling experience preferred.
• Ability to learn to handle cash and learn to operate a cash register and corresponding system.
• Excellent interpersonal skills & a friendly, positive attitude with co-workers, managers, volunteers & guests.
• Must be reliable and dependable to work schedule shifts as requested.
