Job Summary
The Inside Technical Sales Representative is typically the first point of contact new customers have with Vytal Filtration Technologies. It is therefore crucial that the ideal candidate possesses a deep technical understanding of liquid/solid separation and filtration processes in addition to taking the time to understand the customer's process. In addition to being a technical resource for our customer base, the Inside Technical Sales Representative must also be able to communicate effectively with the customer to deliver sustainable solutions while also managing their expectations. The Inside Technical Sales Representative will be required to complete quotations and proposals for customers that will be based on multiple variable cost factors, as well as troubleshoot and solve filtration issues, complete quotations and proposals, enter orders, and specify new process filtration equipment.
Our customers frequently depend on us for technical guidance and solutions, and we typically receive a high volume of inquiries, some of which may be complex or resource intensive. The ability to manage one's time efficiently and knowing when to prioritize or delegate inquiries will be critical for success in this role.
Job Responsibilities
- Sales Team Coordination: Will demonstrate an understanding of current strategies and contribute to achieving them. You will build and maintain long-term relationships with both new and existing customers. Will identify new opportunities, issues, or concerns and direct them to the appropriate salesperson for follow-up. Tracking quotations and proposals, providing valuable feedback on successful or unsuccessful sales to continuously improve our approach. Occasional visits to client sites may also be required.
- Customer Service: In this role, you will provide timely and professional responses to customer inquiries, prioritizing requests based on urgency and workload to ensure smooth and efficient service. You will work closely with our purchasing and logistics teams to gather accurate lead times and proactively manage customer expectations. This role requires the ability to understand customer needs through phone and email communication, as well as the ability to assess and prioritize requests based on urgency to deliver exceptional service. Able to calmly an efficiently resolve customer issues to ensure customer satisfaction and long-term retention.
- Quote and Proposal Preparation: In this role, you will identify customer requirements in terms of product, pricing, and lead times. You will demonstrate attention to detail when preparing quotations, ensuring all information is accurate and valid for smooth processing upon order receipt. Will include contacting suppliers as needed for clarification on product descriptions, modifications, pricing, and lead times to provide accurate and up-to-date information. Support the customer's decision-making process by offering clear and appropriate technical information. Work with Outside Sales representatives to quote and provide sales order confirmations. Work with Supply Chain to source relevant products for customers.
- Documentation and Reporting: Complete and maintain accurate records of quotes, sales, communications with customers.
- Safety Standards: Actively participate in maintaining compliance with the company safety program by adhering to workplace safety standards, policies, and guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Degree in a STEM discipline (Mechanical or Chemical Engineering preferred) and/or experience with industrial separation processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Self-motivated and takes pride in the quality of work produced.
- Technical approach to problem solving with a focus on developing a deeper understanding of the customer's application and process.
- Driven to make sustainable long-term sales and developing a trusting relationship with customers.
- Meticulous and detail-oriented, especially with orders, quotations, and proposals.
- Creativity and resourcefulness in the face of internal and external constraints.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Exceptional skills in selling products and closing deals.
- Ability to manage time and customers. Knowing when to prioritize or delegate certain tasks.

- Working knowledge and/or interest in filtration and separation processes.
