Nurse Practitioner Job Description

We are seeking a self-motivated, compassionate and skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our incredible team
Responsibilities
· Conduct comprehensive patient assessments including medical history, lifestyle evaluation, physical examinations, and interpretation of laboratory and diagnostic tests.
· Develop individualized care plans using an integrative approach that may include lifestyle modification, nutritional strategies, natural therapies, and conventional interventions within the NP scope of practice.
· Diagnose, manage, and treat acute and chronic conditions using evidence-based, patient-centered methods.
· Prescribe medications, order diagnostic tests, and provide medical treatments in accordance with Alberta NP regulations and clinic protocols.
· Collaborate closely with our team of integrative practitioners, physicians, and external specialists to provide coordinated and comprehensive care.
· Educate patients on disease prevention, holistic health principles, and lifestyle choices that promote long-term wellness and resilience.
· Monitor patient outcomes, adjust treatment plans as needed, and maintain supportive, ongoing follow-up care.
· Maintain detailed and accurate records of patient consultations, assessments, and treatments using the Jane or Accuro EMR system.
Qualifications & Skills
· In-depth knowledge of Integrative or Functional medicine principles, modalities, and therapies.
· Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and pathology.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients and collaborate with other healthcare professionals.
· Empathy and compassion to provide personalized and patient-centered care.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess complex medical conditions and develop effective treatment plans.
· Organizational skills to manage patient caseload, maintain records, and schedule appointments.
· Ability to stay updated on the latest research and developments in medicine.
Requirements
· Completion of a Master's or Doctoral program in Nursing from an accredited institution.
· Current registration as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA).
· Authorization to prescribe medications, order diagnostics, and practice autonomously as per Alberta legislation.
· Evidence of continuing education and a commitment to professional development.
· Passion for integrative, patient-centered care and a holistic health approach.
