Join us as a Footwear Department Sales Manager, where you'll lead our team in providing exceptional service and outfitting customers with the perfect footwear for their adventures.

Since 1979, we have been Canada's go-to destination for performance-driven gear and stylish outdoor fashion. From skiing to cycling, we're here to outfit our customers for their next adventure with apparel, footwear, equipment, and accessories for everyone.

We're opening a brand-new Sporting Life store in 2026 at Oakridge Park, Vancouver, and we're looking for a Department Sales Manager, Footwear to lead the way.

What You'll Do;

As a leader on our shop floor, you'll combine your love for footwear and operational expertise to create a standout retail experience. You'll set the tone as a role model for outstanding customer service, fostering a fun, inclusive, and high-performing team environment.

While partnering with your assistant manager to achieve sales targets, manage team KPIs, and maximize profitability, you'll coach your team to be product and trend experts, ensuring they're equipped to guide customers to their ideal footwear. You'll manage scheduling, inventory, and merchandising to keep your department running smoothly and looking sharp.

  • Deliver outstanding customer service, resolving issues promptly and ensuring customer satisfaction at every interaction.
  • Execute visual merchandising standards, including analyzing product needs and implementing weekly plans to optimize sales.
  • Act as Manager on Duty, leading by example in daily operations, motivating the team, and ensuring adherence to store policies and procedures.
  • Prioritize health and safety by identifying workplace hazards, providing training, and adhering to Occupational Health and Safety standards.
  • Support recruitment, staff development, and performance appraisals to build a strong, high-performing team.

What You'll Bring;

  • Passionate about footwear and helping customers find the perfect fit for their activities.
  • With 2-4 years of retail leadership experience, you've successfully led teams to hit goals and elevate customer experiences.
  • You're results-driven, entrepreneurial, and motivated by challenges.
  • Strong communicator who knows how to motivate, engage, and get things done.
  • You're an organized multitasker who thrives on juggling priorities.
