Position Summary
We are seeking a qualified Maintenance and Facilities Planner to support operational reliability and facility excellence. This role is responsible for planning and coordinating preventive maintenance activities, managing work order processes, supporting facilities operations, and working closely with technical teams and external vendors to minimize downtime and maintain a safe, efficient work environment.
Key responsibilities include:
Maintenance Planning
• Collaborate with production teams to schedule equipment downtime and develop daily and weekly maintenance plans
• Review, prioritize, and approve work orders related to corrective repairs, preventive maintenance, capital projects, and tooling requirements
• Assess job scopes with technical staff, procure required parts and materials, monitor progress, and reschedule incomplete work as needed
• Develop and maintain preventive maintenance tasks within the CMMS, audit overdue work orders, and maintain accurate equipment asset records
• Distribute maintenance schedules and completion reports to operations and leadership teams
• Facilitate safety meetings and support training initiatives related to maintenance activities
• Participate in vendor selection and service contract negotiations
• Provide cost estimates and analytics related to equipment history, downtime, labor, and material costs to production and engineering teams
Facilities Planning
• Coordinate daily work assignments for facilities technicians, janitorial services, and lead hands
• Support facility repairs, inspections, and cleaning protocols to ensure compliance with standards
• Develop and distribute facility maintenance schedules and review inspection checklists
• Schedule contractors for urgent and planned facility work and assist with vendor contract negotiations
• Prepare quarterly updates and annual facilities reports for management
• Support hiring processes by participating in interviews and requisition activities
• Audit facilities supplies and ensure appropriate inventory levels are maintained
The ideal candidate for this position will have:
• 1 to 3 years of experience in maintenance planning or scheduling within a manufacturing environment
• Proficiency with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and Microsoft Office applications
• Strong organizational and planning skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
• Knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations
• Experience coordinating vendors and contractors
• Red Seal certification or a diploma or degree in a related field such as industrial maintenance or mechanical engineering technology is considered an asset
