Job Summary

The Director of Care is an important role responsible for overseeing the delivery of high-quality senior care in retirement homes. This position requires a compassionate and experienced professional dedicated to ensuring residents receive exceptional care while maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations. The Director of Care will lead a team of caregiving staff, manage operational functions, and promote a safe, respectful, and nurturing environment for all residents.

Duties

  • Develop, implement, and monitor care plans tailored to individual resident needs
  • Supervise and mentor caregiving staff, ensuring adherence to care standards and fostering a positive team environment
  • Oversee medication administration processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with healthcare regulations
  • Manage staffing schedules and resource allocation to optimize operational efficiency
  • Coordinate with healthcare professionals to facilitate resident health assessments and treatments.
  • Ensure compliance with all laws & regulations related to assisted living operations
  • Lead staff training programs focused on assisted living best practices, dementia care, and safety protocols.
  • Promote a culture of compassionate care, dignity, & respect for residents & families

Skills

  • Proven experience in assisted living or LTC settings with strong leadership capabilities
  • Extensive knowledge of nursing practices, medication administration, and senior care
  • Demonstrated supervising experience with the ability to motivate and guide teams
  • Strong understanding of dementia care and managing complex resident needs
  • Excellent organizational skills with experience in resource management.
  • Compassionate communication skills tailored to elderly residents with diverse needs.
  • Ability to navigate regulatory requirements and ensure compliance across all operational aspects. The ideal candidate will be a dedicated leader committed to enhancing the quality of life for seniors through compassionate care and effective management practices.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30.00-$34.00 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week
