We are presently seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Administrator for our Raytheon Canadian Defence Solutions (RC-DS) business based out of Calgary, Alberta. The Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Administrator supports the effective implementation and ongoing management of our EHS program. In this role, you will help develop, coordinate, and maintain systems and processes that promote regulatory compliance, operational safety, environmental stewardship, and a strong organizational safety culture. Responsibilities include maintaining accurate EHS documentation, collecting and organizing key data and metrics, preparing reports and training materials, and providing coordination and administrative support to EHS initiatives across the organization.

In addition to EHS-related duties, this position will also provide administrative support as required—including travel coordination, expense report preparation, and meeting set-up and facilitation—in collaboration with the Executive Assistant.

Responsibilities

  • Collect, organize and input EHS data and key performance metrics.
  • Maintain and update EHS-related documentation, such as training records, incident reports, and inspection records
  • Assist with maintaining the EHS Manual, Emergency Preparedness and Response Manual and related documentation to ensure compliance with evolving company and legislative requirements.
  • Support the environmental and chemical management program, including Safety Data Sheet (SDS) reviews, chemical approvals, chemical inventories, hazardous waste room oversight and compliance reporting
  • Assist with facility inspections and ensure supporting documentation is collected and filed appropriately
  • Develop and update training packages, schedule and facilitate training/orientations
  • Assist with execution of projects including conducting research, managing information, coordinating meetings, creating reports and presentations
  • Attend meetings such as the Joint Health and Safety Committee, Business Resilience and Crisis Management and All-Hands to support/promote EHS initiatives
  • Support the internal audit function of the EHS program
  • Assist in the coordination of the EHS Contractor Safety Approval Program
  • Preparation of reports and presentations to support EHS requirements
  • Contribute to and uphold a positive, collaborative, respectful and safe workplace culture
  • Provide administrative support, as assigned by our Executive Assistant, such as booking travel, preparing expense reports, ordering general office supplies and assisting with catering, set-up and support of Customer and All Hands meetings
  • Update and maintain the global contact list and various administrative documents in the computer system
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • The ideal candidate will have post-secondary education, certificate or diploma in Health and Safety, or a related program
  • Health and Safety Administrator designation (HSA) would be considered an asset
  • 1-3 years related work experience
  • Must have strong computer skills, specifically with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Experience with Enablon or other EHS Information Software is an asset
  • Experience with CONCUR or other Travel and Expense Management systems would be an asset.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Canadian workplace environmental, health and safety legislation
  • Knowledge of US standards would be beneficial
  • Working knowledge and understanding of international standards including ISO14001 is considered an asset
  • Must have good interpersonal, organizational and communication skills (oral and written)
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail
