We are looking for a Buyer to join our Buying and Category team

About the Role

As a Buyer, you will be responsible for leading the end-to-end buying and category management process across multiple beauty product lines. You will oversee supplier relationships, sourcing, assortment strategy, and product lifecycle management, ensuring innovation, strong brand growth, and optimal sales and inventory performance.

Supplier & Category Management

  • Manage relationships and negotiations with local and overseas suppliers for pricing, terms, and delivery.
  • Source new vendors, assess proposals, and drive continuous improvement in cost, efficiency, and lead time.
  • Evaluate supplier and brand performance and provide feedback for improvement.

Assortment & Product Lifecycle

  • Develop category strategies and optimize product mix based on sales and profitability analysis.
  • Manage new item set-ups, price updates, and SKU lifecycle (launch, maintain, discontinue).
  • Oversee labeling, compliance documentation (MSDS, INCI), and Health Canada submissions.

Procurement & Logistics

  • Manage purchase orders end-to-end, from creation to delivery.
  • Track shipments, resolve discrepancies, and handle import documentation.
  • Coordinate replenishment and inventory for 2 DCs and over 25 stores.

Inventory & Promotions

  • Forecast demand and monitor stock levels to minimize stockouts and overages.
  • Plan and execute promotions, product launches, and monthly events with cross-functional teams.
  • Negotiate FOC, GWP, and promotional credits with suppliers.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work with Marketing, Retail, and E-commerce teams on launches, PR events, pop-ups, and loyalty programs.
  • Plan stock allocation and VMD for new store openings.
  • Support CRM and omnichannel initiatives to enhance customer experience.

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Merchandising, or related field.
  • 2+ years' experience in buying or merchandising, ideally in retail or beauty.
  • Strong negotiation and analytical skills with advanced Excel (Macros, BI) and ERP knowledge.
  • Excellent organizational skills, accuracy, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Knowledge of import operations, product compliance and labeling regulations.

Nice-to-haves:

  • Bilingual in English and French.
  • Experience in multi-store retail or beauty/lifestyle categories.
  • Familiarity with CRM and omnichannel retail programs.
