Tocha is a BC-born company crafting spiced sauces that are full of flavour and real ingredients. Retailers and in-store experiences are at the heart of what we do, which is why we're hiring an approachable, driven Brand Ambassador to join our Brand Experience Team.

About the role

As a Brand Ambassador, you'll be the face of Tocha during in-store sampling sessions across your designated region. You'll chat with customers, help them discover the right sauce for their tastebuds, and demystify our hot sauce without the heat. No prior sampling experience is needed, just a positive attitude, strong communication skills, and comfort engaging with all kinds of people.

There is also an opportunity for a full-time dual role, combining product sampling with a content creation remit. In this position, you'll split your time between in-store demos and developing content for our social media channels (think moments from sampling sessions, behind the scenes sauce production, and anything else you're inspired to capture).

What the job involves

  • Hosting in-store tastings and keeping a clean, inviting setup
  • Educating customers on flavours, ingredients, allergens, pairings, and our brand story
  • Encouraging sales in a friendly, non-pushy way
  • Tracking samples and purchases, and reporting stock levels
  • Managing sampling materials and sharing customer insights with our team
  • Building strong relationships with store partners
  • FT Dual Role - content ideation and creation

What we're looking for

Someone reliable, organized, and proactive, as you'll need to come prepared to demos and engage with all potential customers. A natural communicator who enjoys connecting with others and representing a local brand. Retail or sales experience is a bonus, though not essential.

If interested in the FT dual role, we're also looking for a natural storyteller with a strong eye for content. Experience creating and editing still and video content for platforms such as Instagram and TikTok (personal, freelance, or brand accounts all welcome). Confidence filming and photographing in real-world environments, including retail spaces and behind-the-scenes settings and strong management between in-store sampling and content creation

Requirements

  • Ability to stand for up to 4 hours
  • lift ~20kg
  • Travel to stores across the following municipalities in Metro Vancouver: Vancouver, North Vancouver, West Vancouver, Burnaby and New Westminster
  • Hold a valid BC driver's licence with a clean driving record
  • Be available for weekend shifts (minimum 2 dates/month)

Schedule & compensation

  • This is a flexible role, offering between two and four days per week of in-store sampling sessions.
  • Should you opt for the full-time position that combines demo sampling with an additional content creation remit. This dual role would become a full-time, salaried position
  • Monthly travel stipend provided

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 8 – 40 per week
