Cashier (Meat Counter)

Position Purpose: To serve and assist customers with a genuine service approach.

Reports to: Retail Manager & Front-End Supervisors

Responsibilities:

• Serving & Assisting Customers promptly and efficiently
• Running Tills
• Taking Customer Orders and placing in the order book
• Answering the Telephones
• General Cleanup throughout day and end of day
• Opening Store including unwrapping meat case and preparing retail area
• Closing Store including wrapping Meat Case, Cleaning Glass, Doors, Floors, and to-do lists and taking out garbage/Cardboard
• Packaging/Vacuum sealing food products/discounting
• Freezer Packs/Custom Packs
• Stocking Store areas designated to Fresh Case Area
• Filling/Restocking meat case
• Be familiar with the products, including meat, grocery and produce
• Be familiar with Hopcott farm history, story and facts about our meat
• Adhere to food safety, sanitation and company policies
• Must follow food safety guidelines
• Greet customers, answer questions, and assist them with their shopping experience
• Be knowledgeable about the history of the farm and our sustainability practices
