Summary of responsibilities

Reporting to the Manager, Diagnostic Services, and under the supervision of the X-ray Charge Technologist, the technologist will produce all required radiological examinations according to prescribed standards. He/she will perform general radiography, mobile radiography, gastric studies, mobile fluoroscopy, urology, O.R. and any associated tasks, e.g. select/prepare contrast media. He/she will produce high quality images as required, utilize all protective radiation safeguards and assume office and other related duties as required. He/she will document all appropriate information in the radiology information system and uphold all policies and procedures of the department and organization.



Requirements of the job


• Graduate from an accredited school of Radiology

• Current registration with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario

• Proficiency in digitized radiography equipment

• Recent relevant experience

• Excellent computer skills and good working knowledge of HIS, Ris and PACS

• Demonstrated effective communication skills, critical thinking, problem solving, decision making, and organizational skills

• Must be able to multi-task in a fast paced work environment

• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work well with multiple interruptions

• Ability to work independently and within a multi-disciplinary team environment

• Must meet physical demands of position including lifting over 60 lbs. and withstand constant standing and/or walking

• Ability to respect and maintain confidentiality

• Current certification in BCLS

• Demonstrated regular/punctual attendance

• Demonstrated commitment to patient safety
