The Opportunity
Reporting directly to the Commissioner, Engineering, Public Works & Transportation, this role is responsible for the delivery of high-quality facility services that meet community needs while ensuring operational excellence, accountability and a consistent user experience across all Town facilities. You will provide leadership and oversight for all Facilities Management activities, including building security, preventative maintenance programs, renovations and repairs. You will be responsible for ensuring the long-term health, compliance and optimal performance of the Town's diverse portfolio of facilities, including recreation centres, Town Hall, fire stations, OPP detachments, libraries, works yards and other community-serving buildings.
As the Manager, Facilities, you will perform the following duties, including but not limited to:
- Lead and oversee facility operations, including preventative maintenance, building security, repairs, renovations and service delivery standards
- Implement standardized operational policies, procedures, KPIs and governance frameworks across all Town facilities
- Provide leadership to a large, diverse facilities operations team, including unionized and non-unionized staff, across multiple locations
- Oversee vendor and contract management to ensure service quality, compliance and cost effectiveness
- Manage operational and capital budgets, risk management, compliance and customer service outcomes related to facility operations
The Ideal Candidate
We are seeking a collaborative and results-driven professional with a post-secondary diploma in Recreation Facilities Management, Building or Property Management, Recreation Studies or a closely related field. Our ideal candidate has a minimum of seven (7) years of related experience, including at least four (4) years of supervisory experience, preferably within facilities management services in a recreational or municipal environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience leading large operational teams and managing complex facility portfolios. We are seeking an individual with superior leadership and customer service skills, a demonstrated ability to implement standardized service models and operational controls, and excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
The successful candidate for Manager, Facilities will be required to work a flexible schedule, including in the office, remotely and after hours (as required).
This position offers a salary range of $139,050.70 to $173,813.37 plus a competitive benefit package.
