Ontario Educational Credit Union (OECU) is looking for a Member Service Representative (MSR) to join our organization. OECU is a full-service financial institution servicing the employees of various boards of education across Ontario. The MSR is a vital part of our team as they are the first point of contact for our members and potential members. They provide exceptional and personal service to our valued members. They are professional, efficient and knowledgeable of OECU products and services. They recognize opportunities to promote OECU products and services which will best serve the members' needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle member requests for deposits, withdrawals, transfers, and other routine transactions
  • Identify and fulfill members' financial service needs (e.g. cash, drafts, process bill payments, order cheques, buy/sell foreign currencies, process wires, RRSP and term deposit transactions, assist members get a debit card, etc.)
  • Respond to member needs, whether in-person or by telephone, in a friendly, professional manner
  • Adhere to compliance and regulatory requirements as well as OECU policies and procedures
  • Listen and connect with our members to identify products and services that would match their needs, and when necessary refer these to the appropriate branch team member
  • Maintain records as per required guidelines
  • Complete other general office duties, processing and administration, as required

Job Experience and Educational Requirements

  • Minimum high school diploma (post-secondary diploma preferred)
  • Experience handling cash transactions
  • Knowledge of computer systems
  • Experience helping members/customers in a bank or credit union environment preferred
  • Sales experience considered an asset
  • Strong ability to problem-solve, prioritize, and organize work within time constraints
  • Effective communicator – both written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong ability to utilize professionalism and tact

Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract

Contract length: 12 months

Pay: $35,100.00-$42,900.00 per year
