What you'll do.

As a key member of Jackman's commercial team, the Associate, Commercial Strategy partners closely with the Lead, Commercial Strategy and Chief Commercial Officer to accelerate how Jackman shows up, competes, and grows in-market. This role blends strategic thinking, insight generation, and commercial storytelling while owning the tools, narratives, and intelligence systems that fuel our pursuit engine. You will work across internal teams (Strategy, Creative), participate in real client engagements, and build sector-specific fluency that informs outreach, positioning, and proposal design.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Strategic Intelligence & Opportunity Framing

  2. Own and evolve how Jackman tracks the market, understands client ambition, and surfaces strategic growth opportunities.

  3. Lead the "Get Smart" process, developing insight briefs for target clients, categories, and whitespace
  4. Own sector-specific tracking and thought leadership development
  5. Identify early signals from competitor activity, macro shifts, and client movements
  6. Prepare executive-ready POVs for outreach, pursuits, or first conversations

  7. Pursuit Design & Solution Framing

  8. Actively contribute to the development of pursuit strategy, content, and solution narratives.

  9. Translate research and client insights into pursuit structures and tailored POVs
  10. Support mapping of client needs into Jackman's transformation model (North Star, and CatOne Customer, Competitive, Activation Strategies)
  11. Co-create internal pitch strategy docs and briefing decks
  12. Work with the Manager, BD to sharpen pursuit positioning and logic

  13. Storytelling, Case Development & Content Ownership

  14. Own the first pass of the story then refine it into a winning narrative.

  15. Draft pursuit decks, visual outlines, and proposal documents
  16. Build and maintain our case study library, including by sector, theme, and use case
  17. Lead creation of reusable storytelling tools (e.g. vertical-specific slides, impact examples, signature language)
  18. Collaborate with design to ensure high-impact, consistent visual execution

  19. Sales Infrastructure & Internal Systems

  20. Keep Jackman's growth engine sharp, scalable, and insights driven.

  21. Maintain pursuit templates, proposal tools, and asset libraries
  22. Drive pipeline hygiene and weekly All Team and Executive Officer updates
  23. Lead improvements to BD tracking and reporting dashboards
  24. Partner with Marketing and Ops on system integration (CRM, reporting, asset mgmt)

  25. Market-Facing & Pursuit Participation

  26. Play an active role in Jackman's outward-facing work - learning by doing.

  27. Join C-level discovery calls as observer or strategic contributor
  28. Prepare and present insight briefs or POVs to internal and client stakeholders
  29. Assist in shaping and responding to RFPs and inbound opportunities
  30. Develop/leverage tools to track market movement & trends to shape strategy
  31. Support early pursuit presentations, sprints, or workshops as needed

  32. Team & Talent Development

  33. Help raise the bar of commercial competency across the business.

  34. Lead onboarding for new BD tools, templates, and processes
  35. Coach rotating strategists who participate in the pursuit process
  36. Contribute to internal BD enablement building commercial fluency across teams
  37. Elevate the BD function's role and reputation across the organization

What we are looking for:

  • 2–4 years' experience in strategy, consulting, marketing, or business development
  • Outstanding written and visual communication skills (especially in decks)
  • Proven ability to synthesize research and insight into actionable positioning
  • Highly organized and proactive, with a bias toward clarity and quality
  • A curiosity for clients, categories, and business models
  • Ambition to grow into a Manager, Strategy Consultant, or Commercial Lead
