TH offers a wide range of acute and post-acute care including emergency and intensive care, medical/surgical care, obstetrical, rehabilitation and complex/transitional care and palliative care services. Through regional partnerships and visiting specialists, TH is able to offer a broad range of outpatient services including dialysis and chemotherapy. In addition to the above, the Hospital offers laboratory, diagnostic imaging and mental health and addictions programs.

Current Recruitment Incentives:

Job ListingsThe Ward Clerk is responsible to maintain good public relations, interpreting established policies to visitors, participate in cooperative planning with other Unit Personnel to provide optimal support services, maintains an adequate supply of forms/stationery and performing other clerical tasks.

Hours of Work:
Combination of shifts between 4 hours to 12 hours in duration. Applicant must have availability to work days and evenings, weekdays and weekends.
Mandatory Requirements:
- Secondary School Graduate
- Possess effective communications skills, both written and verbal in English and French
- Oral proficiency in French at an advanced or superior level required
- Possess a working knowledge of medical terminology, basic numeracy, word processing and different computer programs
- Communication Workshops and / or Medical Terminology courses
- Possess excellent customer relation experience
- Past work experience in a Doctor's office or Hospital clinical setting
- Must have an excellent work record including attendance
- Must demonstrate a commitment to ensure your safety, the safety of fellow workers, patients, volunteers and visitors
- Must support and contribute to a culture of safety and prevention of adverse health events in the organization

Responsibilities:
- Answers all incoming telephone calls, including call bells and relays messages to appropriate primary care nurse
- Processes patient admission, discharges and transfers
- Orders and replenishes miscellaneous forms, charts, standing orders, etc.
- Replenishes new specimen containers in utility rooms and takes specimens to the Lab
- Creates, assembles and maintain patient charts
- Transcribes Doctor's orders
- Liaise with housekeeping department and inform them when patients are discharged or transferred
- Liaise with maintenance and IT department for issues that arise within the department
