Manager, Transportation Billing

• Ensures safety is the priority and that all activities are conducted in accordance with quality, health, safety and environmental management system as well as corporate and local policies.

• Oversee the processing, validation and approval of all transportation invoices

• Ensure accurate freight billing, including correct application of rates, accessorials and fuel charges

• Monitor and reconcile billing discrepancies, invoice errors and rate disputes

• Maintain accurate transportation records by ensuring compliance with Brenntag policy.

• Collaborate with Transportation Planning, Operations and Procurement improve carrier billing compliance

• Benchmarks carrier performance with the objective of improving safety, delivery efficiencies and return on investment.

• Support Operations with all rail related issues, such as site demurrage, disputing invoices and engaging CN/CP Account Reps whenever needed.

• Create and maintain Transportation related SOP's.

• Supervise, develop and performance manage a team of transportation and audit coordinators.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook)

• Proficient in logistics software; preferably SAP, TMS

• Excellent communications skills, verbal and written

• Highly organized and possesses effective time management skills

• Knowledge of our national geography and route information

• Excellent negotiation and analytical skills

• Post-Secondary Education; College Diploma in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Business Administration would be preferred
• A good understanding of transportation billing practices, carrier contract and freight audit procedures. preferably in the Chemical Industry (5+ years)
• Experience in transportation administration, freight audit or logistics billing (5+ years)
