This opportunity is based in the Canadian head office in Brantford Ontario, which is an easy commute from Kitchener/Waterloo, Hamilton, Burlington areas. You will be a part of a dynamic corporate Finance division and will get the opportunity to work on and support projects with the Finance teams for each of the functional areas of Sales & Marketing, Manufacturing & Logistics, and Tax & Treasury.  

Your primary responsibilities will involve special projects, process improvements, reporting and analysis, with the overriding goal to create and implement innovative solutions to financial problems.  During your work term, you also will be responsible for several month-end closing requirements including monthly reporting and analysis, journal entries, and account reconciliations.  Additional specific assignments will include profitability analysis on product merchandising displays, advertising pre/post launch examinations, sales variance analysis and trade spend analysis.  Throughout your work term, you will also gain valuable SAP experience, which is a marketable skill to add to your resume.

Job Requirements / Skills Required:

  • Strong analytical skills with precise attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills – ability to develop innovative solutions to complex problems
  • Ability to think strategically, analyze various business situations and make actionable recommendations
  • Software Packages (essential):  Microsoft Office (particularly Microsoft Excel)
  • Additional Software Packages (experience is an asset):  SAP, SAP Business Warehouse
  • CPA aspirations is a definite asset
  • Consumer Packaged Goods industry experience is also an asset
