Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Sports Camera Operator to join our production team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of sports dynamics, be able to anticipate key moments, and have the technical expertise to operate professional-grade cameras. You will be responsible for capturing live sporting events, ensuring high-quality footage, and contributing to the overall broadcast experience for viewers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate cameras during live sports events, capturing dynamic angles and key plays.
  • Work closely with the director and production team to follow game action and instructions.
  • Set up, test, and maintain camera equipment before and during events.
  • Ensure smooth transitions and consistently high-quality visuals throughout the broadcast.
  • Follow the flow of the game, anticipating moments like goals, tackles, or critical plays.
  • Collaborate with other camera operators, audio engineers, and technical staff to deliver a cohesive production.
  • Manage on-site technical troubleshooting to ensure minimal disruption to the broadcast.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in camera operation, preferably within a live sports environment.
  • Knowledge of different sports and the ability to follow fast-paced action.
  • Familiarity with professional camera equipment (e.g., Sony, Canon, Panasonic) and broadcast technologies.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a team.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and adapt to changing game conditions.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in live broadcasting or sports coverage.
  • A passion for sports and storytelling through visual media.
