Job Description
Qualicare Home Care Regina is hiring Child Caregivers / Autism Support Workers to provide in-home child care and behavioural support for children on the Autism spectrum.
This role is ideal for individuals with experience in autism support, child development, respite care, behavioural support, or special needs caregiving who are looking for part-time, flexible work in a supportive home care environment.
Schedule
- Part-time child care position
- Flexible scheduling
- 3-hour shifts (minimum)
- 3-hour shifts (minimum)
- Weekday and weekend availability required
- Morning and afternoon/evening shifts available
- Provide in-home child care and autism support
- Support child development through structured and creative activities
- Create a safe, positive, and nurturing environment
- Assist with behavioural support and de-escalation strategies
- Help with daily caregiving tasks including meal preparation and light housekeeping
- Engage children in age-appropriate and developmentally appropriate activities
- Follow individualized care plans, safety procedures, and behavioural strategies
- Communicate effectively with families and the care team
Required:
- Experience working with children with Autism or developmental disabilities
- CPR and First Aid Level C
- Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening
- Food Safe certification
- WHMIS certification
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada (no sponsorship available)
Preferred / Assets:
- Autism Support Worker, Child and Youth Worker, or Special Needs Care experience
- Training in high behavioural needs and/or high medical needs
- PART Certificate
- MANDT Certificate
- Medication Administration Certificate
- TLR training (high medical needs)
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License
$16.00 – $18.00 per hour
(Based on experience, certifications, and training)
Expected hours: Flexible
Compensation: $ $18.00 per hour
