Our Cooks are the heart of the food service department in our buildings. Our cooks are:

  • Organized - mise en place for all aspects of the role
  • Quality focused - ensure food is fresh and delicious, the environment is spotless, and the equipment is clean
  • Adaptable - ready to pivot with the changing needs of the populations served (e.g. modified or textured diets, food allergies)
  • Team oriented - provides direction while maintaining a positive enjoyable work environment in the kitchen
  • Committed - providing superior customer service and dedication to the role

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook meals according to established recipes and standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and dining areas.
  • Ensure all food safety guidelines are followed during meal preparation and service.
  • Assist with inventory management, including receiving and storing food supplies.
  • Collaborate with team members to provide excellent customer service.

Qualifications

  • Food Safe 1
  • Red Seal (asset)
  • Previous experience in an Assisting Living or Long-Term care setting is preferred
  • Strong knowledge of food safety practices and regulations.
  • Ability to perform various cooking techniques and meal preparation tasks.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.

Job Types: Full-time, Casual

Pay: $25.61-$27.56 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
