Duration: Part-Time - Contract (December to mid February)

Start date: Immediate or as soon as possible

Shift: 0 to 44 hours per week

Salary range: $19.60 per hour (includes the provincial $2.00 WEG)

Requirements:

  • Ability to effectively communicate in English
  • Strong reading, writing, and communication in English
  • Valid First Aid & CRP-C certificate
  • Current Police Vulnerable Sector Check (CPIC)-or willingness to attain
  • Valid Ontario Driver's License
  • Proven experience working with children in educational or care settings.
  • Interpersonal skills and abilities required to work as part of a team
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Commitment to inclusion, empathy, and child-centered care.

Duties:

  • Adhere to all policies and procedures of the Magic Triangle as well as those of the CCEYA
  • Plan and implement educational programs that are age-appropriate and conducive to the children's cognitive, physical, social, and emotional development, while applying the policies and methods adopted by the Magic Triangle
  • Assess the children's needs and adapt the program according to the developmental level and interests of the group
  • Communicate daily with parents, team members, and the team leader
  • Follow and apply the Occupational Health and Safety Act, the Child Care Act, and the Child and Family Services Act
  • Perform other related duties as deemed necessary by the team leader
