Private duty home nurse caring for a child with medical needs:

We are recruiting nurses (RN/LPN) to add to a nursing team caring for a pediatric youth client residing in Kelowna, BC. This job will entail providing 1:1 respite care in the home environment, monitoring and caring for the child with medical needs. Paid training is provided for Non-Invasive Ventilation (CPAP).

Shifts are flexible, can be scheduled around another job.

Duties include: medication administration, personal care, assessments, G-tube care, and monitoring, seizure management, safety, documentation and use of medical devices such as Non-Invasive Ventilation (CPAP) (all training is provided for medical devices). The nurse would be responsible for the care of the child so the parents can have a break.

Care will be provided in the child's home.

Qualifications:

  • Current 'practicing' registration with BCCNM
  • Valid CPR 'C' / BLS certification
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently.
  • Strong verbal and written interpersonal communication skills.
