Rocks & Rings Program Description:

The Rocks & Rings program visits participating schools for a full school day. We take over the gym as classes take turns visiting for 40 minutes sessions of fun and instruction. Various drills, relays and team-building activities are used to introduce students to the sport of curling. Job Description:

• Directly delivering basic curling instruction to elementary aged children in the schools approximately 1-2 days a week
• Occasional equipment delivery/pickup to schools

Skills/Qualifications Required:

• Energetic and enthusiastic
• Strong verbal communication
• Ability to organize, control, and generate enthusiasm in a classroom of 20-30 students
• Ability to work independently
• Good organization and time management skills

Preferred Skills:

• Experience teaching, or coaching elementary aged children in a sport, camp, daycare, or school setting is an asset
• Knowledge of the sport of Curling is an asset, but not a requirement

Special Requirements:

• Access to a vehicle is a requirement for this position (on the days that you will be working)
• Willingness to travel to schools outside of home region is required (compensated for travel)
• Successful Completion of a Criminal Record Check (Vulnerable Sector) is required prior to beginning work in schools
