2021/2022 Winter Snow and Ice Emergency Call Outs-All IRATA Levels

It's that time of year again We are putting together our call out list for any snow and ice bridge winter maintenance emergency work. If you are interested in applying this year, please click on the apply button. A few things we'd like you to know before applying:

1) These shifts are emergency call out shifts. Even you apply to be a part of this list, there is no guarantee of hours. These shifts will occur if it is deemed necessary for us to be on the bridge to help manage the snowfall this winter.

2) Preference of call outs will be given to local technicians who live in Vancouver and the lower mainland. 

3) We can only accept applications of technicians with IRATA certifications.

4) If you are called to work on a shift, you'll get paid a minimum of 12 hours, even if you end up leaving early.

5) If you are called to be on standby, you'll be paid a standby rate (lump sum bonus). However, during the standby, if we call you in to work, you'll have to show up for your shift. If you do not show up, the stand by rate does not apply and it won't be paid.

6) Shifts can be day or night. There will be no preference of being only called for day or night shift. By applying to this list, you are willing to be called for night or day shift. Night shifts will be paid out 1.5X the regular rate.

7) This is winter emergency work, which means you will be outside in the cold for potentially 12 hours. Please be aware of these working conditions before applying.

 8) Once you apply, we will send you an orientation package to be onboarded with Pacific Ropes. This must be completed in order to be qualified for work. If you do not complete the orientation package, you won't be on the list for any call outs.
