Shipper / Receiver

Beclawat Manufacturing Inc. (Prelco Belleville) is looking to fill the position of Shipper / Receiverwho, under the direction of the Production Manager, will be responsible for ensuring the most efficient and effective packaging, documentation and shipment of outgoing material, while providing backup support for receiving as needed. The role ensures compliance with quality and safety standards and a commitment to meeting or exceeding customer expectations. Associates will be required to cross-train on various machines and processes to meet production requirements.

The Shipper / Receiver must possess the following:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 2 - 3 years' experience in a Manufacturing Environment
• Experienced Forklift truck operator
• Attention to detail in all areas of work
• Ability to respond quickly in a dynamic and changing environment
• Ability to read blueprints
• Mechanical Aptitude
• Ability to operate miscellaneous small power tools (i.e. drills, band saw, power nailer) that would commonly be found in a job shop.
• Ability to use a variety of measurement tools, including calipers and tape measures
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds + with a team lift
• Ability to walk, and stand for long periods of time
• Ability to work efficiently as part of a team as well as independently
• Must be adaptable to a changing work environment, competing demands and able to deal with frequent changes, delays or unexpected events
• Eligibility for security clearance including a clean criminal record check

Job Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Assemble containers and crates and determine effective method of shipment
• Prepare, pick, pack, and stage outbound orders for shipment
• Verify orders against shipping documentation and customer requirements
• Provide backup support for receiving by unloading, inspecting, and documenting incoming materials as needed
• Ensure accurate labelling and storage of received material/goods to maintain inventory integrity
• Complete all required paperwork to ensure that documentation is completed accurately and timely
• Document shipping and receiving process
• Safely operate machines within the department including Cut Saws, Mitre Saws, Power Nailer, Band Saws, Punch Press, Crimper etc.
• Accurately filling out timecards daily
• Ensure that all safety recommendations for the individual, the process, or the workplace are adhered to at all times
• Knows, understands and follows the Company Employment Standards as outlined in the Employee Handbook
• Perform other job duties and tasks within the production realm
• Maintain clean equipment and organized work area
• Beclawat Manufacturing Inc. offers competitive total compensation packages. Wage range for Production Associates is $22.5 - $26.97 / hour. Starting wage is $22.5 / hour with a panned step progression based on performance for 2 years. Professional development, training and education reimbursement opportunities are available.
