Job Summary

Reporting to the Landscape Carpentry Supervisor, the Landscape Carpentry Helper assists with the construction, installation, and maintenance of landscape carpentry projects. This role is ideal for individuals looking to develop their skills in outdoor carpentry while working safely and efficiently as part of a crew.

Duties and Responsibilities

Assist with framing and installation of decks, fencing, pergolas, privacy screens, and custom carpentry projects

Support cutting, measuring, and installing materials under supervision

Operate hand tools and power tools safely and as trained

Load, unload, and organize materials and tools at job sites

Assist with site preparation, cleanup, and material handling

Follow safety procedures and assist with maintaining a safe work site

Support carpentry crew and collaborate with landscape construction teams

Assist with maintenance and repair work as required

Other duties performed as required

Skills and Qualifications

Technical Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience in landscaping, construction, or carpentry is an asset
  • Basic knowledge of hand tools and power tools
  • Ability to measure, cut, and handle materials accurately with minimal guidance
  • Interest in outdoor carpentry and construction work

Safety & Work Ethic

  • Willingness to follow site safety procedures and company policies
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Physically able to lift materials of 50 lbs repetitively and perform manual labour
  • Strong work ethic and positive attitude

Communication & Teamwork

  • Ability to take direction from supervisors and work collaboratively with crew members
  • Clear communication skills and willingness to ask questions
  • Professional and respectful attitude on job sites

Licensing & Transportation

  • Valid Class 5 driver's license is an asset
  • Reliable transportation to and from work sites/ Main office
