Associate Director, Engineering – GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) Vaccine Manufacturing
 

Join us as the Associate Director of Engineering and play a critical role in delivering life‑saving vaccines. You will lead engineering and maintenance operations at a GMP vaccine manufacturing site, ensuring that our facilities, equipment, and utilities perform reliably and compliantly.

In this role, you will:

  • Own the engineering function for the site, leading maintenance, utilities, and process engineering activities that support aseptic and biologics manufacturing.
  • Drive reliable, compliant, and efficient plant performance, ensuring equipment uptime and utilities availability (steam, purified water, compressed air, HVAC) that production can count on.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing team, coaching engineers and technicians, building technical depth, and fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Establish and strengthen preventive and predictive maintenance programs, using data and performance metrics to reduce unplanned downtime and extend asset life.
  • Set clear priorities and expectations, ensuring realistic timelines, disciplined execution, and closure of engineering actions and projects.
  • Partner closely with Production, Quality, EHS, and other functions, ensuring fast, effective engineering support, robust change control, and alignment with safety, quality, and business objectives.
  • Champion continuous improvement, leveraging process engineering and GMP utilities expertise to optimize performance, reduce risk, and enhance responsiveness to evolving manufacturing needs.

What you bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (or equivalent technical discipline).
  • GMP manufacturing plant experience in pharma, biologics, or a similar regulated industry.
  • Proven leadership in maintenance, utilities, process engineering, and/or engineering support to production, with demonstrated success leading teams in a manufacturing environment.

The Company is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this job in certain provinces within Canada. Final determinations with respect to salary will consider a number of factors, which may include, but not be limited to the primary work location and the chosen candidate's relevant skills, experience, and education. Expected CAD salary range: $ 97,600- $ 165,900. Available benefits include bonus eligibility, long term incentive if applicable, health care and other insurance benefits (for employee and family), retirement benefits, paid holidays, and vacation.

Rejoignez-nous en tant que Directeur adjoint de l'ingénierie et jouez un rôle crucial dans la délivrance de vaccins qui sauvent des vies. Vous dirigerez les opérations d'ingénierie et de maintenance sur un site de fabrication de vaccins Bonnes pratiques de fabrication (BPF), en veillant à ce que nos installations, équipements et services fonctionnent de manière fiable et conforme.

Dans ce rôle, vous devrez :

  • Être responsable de la fonction d'ingénierie du site, en menant la maintenance, les services publics et les activités d'ingénierie des procédés qui soutiennent la fabrication d'aseptiques et de produits biologiques.
  • Assurer une performance fiable, conforme et efficace de l'installation, garantissant la disponibilité des équipements et la disponibilité des services (vapeur, eau purifiée, air comprimé, CVC) sur lesquels la production peut compter.
  • Dirigez et développez une équipe performante, en coachant des ingénieurs et des techniciens, en développant la profondeur technique et en favorisant une culture de responsabilité, de sécurité et d'amélioration continue.
  • Mettre en place et renforcer des programmes de maintenance préventive et prédictive en utilisant les données et les indicateurs de performance pour réduire les temps d'arrêt imprévus et prolonger la durée de vie des actifs.
  • Fixez des priorités et des attentes claires, en garantissant des délais réalistes, une exécution disciplinée et la clôture des actions et projets d'ingénierie.
  • Collaborez étroitement avec les fonctions Production, Qualité, EHS et autres, garantissant un support technique rapide et efficace, un contrôle robuste des changements et une conformité avec les objectifs de sécurité, de qualité et d'activité.
  • Défendez l'amélioration continue, en tirant parti de l'expertise en ingénierie des procédés et des services publics GMP pour optimiser la performance, réduire les risques et améliorer la réactivité aux besoins manufacturiers en évolution.
     

Ce que vous apportez :

  • Licence en ingénierie (ou discipline technique équivalente).
  • Expérience en usine de fabrication GMP dans la pharma, les produits biologiques ou un secteur réglementé similaire.
  • Leadership avéré en maintenance, services publics, ingénierie des procédés et/ou support technique à la production, avec un succès démontré à la tête d'équipes dans un environnement de fabrication.
