The Opportunity
We're seeking an experienced and motivated Child Care Supervisor to lead our team and oversee the daily operations of our licensed child care centre.
The Supervisor plays a key leadership role—ensuring regulatory compliance, promoting excellence in programming, and fostering a positive and collaborative environment for children, families, and educators.

What You'll Do
Leadership & Compliance
- Oversee the day-to-day operations and administration of the centre.
- Ensure full compliance with the Child Care and Early Years Act and all licensing and safety requirements.
- Maintain strong relationships with the Ministry of Education and other regulatory agencies.
- Represent the centre and Board at local child care and community network meetings.
Program & Quality Management
- Lead the development and delivery of inclusive, high-quality programs that reflect diversity, culture, and developmental needs.
- Evaluate and enhance programming based on current early childhood research and feedback from staff and families.
- Oversee health, safety, and emergency policies to ensure the well-being of all children and staff.
- Plan and coordinate professional development for team members.
Family & Community Engagement
- Build and maintain positive, transparent relationships with families.
- Communicate clearly and professionally through newsletters, meetings, and ongoing updates.
- Facilitate family orientations and engagement initiatives.
Financial & Administrative Oversight
- Approve payroll and collaborate with the Bookkeeper on budgeting, reporting, and funding reconciliations.
- Manage enrollment, waitlists, subsidies, and fee adjustments.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for all operations.
Staff Leadership & Development
- Recruit, train, supervise, and mentor a team of educators, students, and volunteers.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and staff meetings.
- Foster a positive, respectful, and collaborative work culture that supports professional growth.
What You Bring
- Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE).
- 2–5 years of supervisory or management experience in a licensed child care setting.
- Strong understanding of the CCEYA and other child care legislation.
- Proven leadership, organization, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to handle emergencies and challenging situations calmly and professionally.
- Proficiency in google docs, and child care software such as Parent app.
- Current First Aid & CPR-C certification, medical clearance, and immunization record.
- Flexibility to work occasional evenings/weekends for meetings or events.
- Knowledge of STEM learning, York Region community resources, and Christian values considered assets.
