Reporting to Property Services Supervisor-Mechanical

ROLE: The Oil Heat System Technician will carry out repairs and maintenance, and preventive maintenance inspections, on the heating systems to keep them in a good state of repair, functional and safe for all users. Experience with plumbing and ventilation systems is preferred. The requirements for the position are: 

  • Oil Heat System Technician Red Seal, required.
  • High School Diploma.
  • Five years' experience in oil heat system trade preferred.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures and practices.
  • Ability to Service, repair, maintain heating systems including but not limited to boilers, burners, pumps, fuel system and radiation system. 
  • Valid Nova Scotia Operator's License.
  • Demonstrated effective oral and written communication and organizational skills.

 Qualified applicants from within the CUPE Bargaining Unit Local 3876 will be considered first. Should there be no qualified candidate from within the Bargaining Unit, new applicants will be considered.
