Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Developer with deep, hands-on experience to support the firm's trading, portfolio management, and compliance operations. This role is part of the Trading & Compliance Systems team and focuses on the development, configuration, and support of the firm's trading platforms, including Charles River Investment Management Solution (CRIMS), in a highly integrated investment environment.

The successful candidate will work closely with traders, portfolio managers, compliance, and technology teams to deliver high-impact solutions, mentor junior developers, and maintain the stability and scalability of the platform. Prior experience with CRIMS is not required, and on-the-job training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work directly with traders, portfolio managers, and compliance teams to enhance trading and compliance system functionality, including CRIMS features such as Manager Workbench, modeling, rebalancing, blotter workflows, and compliance testing.
  • Configure and maintain key components including workflow rules, instrument defaults, user privileges, import/export mappings, and batch integrations.
  • Develop and support platform customizations and trade file outputs for custodians and third parties.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues in collaboration with internal IS teams and external vendors, including Charles River Development.
  • Assist in system patch and version upgrades through planning, testing, and deployment.
  • Perform root cause analysis for production issues and implement lasting resolutions.
  • Document system configurations and processes to ensure transparency and knowledge transfer.
  • Identify opportunities for automation and process improvement within trading and compliance systems.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior developers on the team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in software development.
  • Direct experience with Charles River IMS (CRIMS) is not required, but exposure or interest in learning it is an asset.
  • Strong understanding of Trading and Compliance Systems configuration, integration, and support processes.
  • Proficiency in C#.NET and SQL.
  • Familiarity with scripting tools such as PowerShell; experience with Angular/Typescript is a plus.
  • Experience working with Azure and Azure DevOps is an asset.
  • Knowledge of the trade lifecycle, investment operations, and compliance workflows.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work across technical and business teams.
