Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate must have experience hauling logs and performing float moves. This role requires transporting goods safely and efficiently to various locations, a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and the ability to navigate various road conditions. The Truck Driver will also be expected to perform basic vehicle maintenance and ensure compliance with all transportation regulations.

Duties

  • Proven ability to transport logs safely and efficiently.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance.
  • Ensures load is properly secured and weight is evenly distributed on truck and trailer. Checks binders and wrappers to ensure load is secure
  • Inspects tractor, trailer and equipment for defects and safe operating condition pre and post trips as applicable. Also, when stopped during the workday
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery times.
  • Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while operating the vehicle.
  • Perform routine maintenance on the truck, including checking oil levels, tire pressure, and other essential functions.
  • Ensures that all shipping documentation (bills of lading, weight tickets etc.) required to move with shipment are available for inspection

Skills

  • Proven experience in commercial driving with a valid CDL (Commercial Driver's License).
  • Strong knowledge of automotive repair principles for basic vehicle maintenance.
  • Familiarity with freight handling procedures and regulations.
  • Must have experience in hauling logs and conducting float moves
  • Excellent navigation skills with the ability to read maps and use GPS technology.
  • Strong communication skills for effective interaction with team members and clients.
  • Attention to detail in maintaining accurate records and ensuring safety compliance.

Pay: $28.00-$32.00 per hour
