Job DescriptionWe are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Capacity Planner to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for forecasting future capacity needs and developing strategic plans to ensure we have the necessary resources to meet demand. This role requires a strong understanding of data analysis, supply chain management, and operational processes. The Capacity Planner will collaborate with various departments, including operations, sales, and finance, to optimize resource utilization and drive business growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop the Demand Planning Process: Analyze and map the current flow of information, then design and implement a structured, end-to-end demand planning process.
Gather Intelligence: Liaise directly with Sales, Marketing, and Customer Service teams to gather crucial customer feedback, market intelligence, and promotional information to enrich the forecast.
Forecasting and Analysis: Analyze historical data, market trends, and business forecasts to predict future capacity requirements for people, equipment, and facilities.
Strategic Planning: Develop and implement long-term and short-term capacity plans to align with business objectives and mitigate potential bottlenecks.
Data Modeling: Create and maintain capacity models to simulate different scenarios and assess the impact of various business decisions.
Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to gather data, understand business needs, and communicate capacity-related insights and recommendations.
Performance Monitoring: Track and report on key capacity metrics, identifying areas for improvement and making data-driven recommendations.
Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve capacity planning processes, tools, and methodologies.
Peak Season preparation: Optimize resource allocation to ensure efficient use of assets and timely delivery of products or services.
Risk Management: Identify potential capacity constraints and develop contingency plans to mitigate risks.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
Experience: 4 - 5 years of experience in capacity planning, demand planning, supply chain analysis, or a similar role.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Python, R).
Experience with capacity planning software or ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
Strong understanding of statistical forecasting methods.
Proficiency with Google Workspace (G Suite), particularly Google Sheets, for collaboration and data analysis.
Soft Skills:
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information to diverse audiences.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Exceptional attention to detail.
Thrives in Ambiguity: You have a proven ability to navigate uncertainty, create structure where none exists, and make sound decisions with incomplete information.
