We are currently looking to hire an OPERATIONS MANAGER for our client in Edmonton, AB.

Position Overview
A well-established industrial controls and automation organization is seeking an Operations Manager to provide day-to-day leadership across operations, customer engagement, and team management. This role is heavily relationship-focused and requires strong industry knowledge, technical credibility, and the ability to lead and support a small, experienced team.
The successful candidate will act as a key internal and external liaison, ensuring operational excellence, high customer satisfaction, and effective coordination between technical, sales, and supply chain functions.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Leadership
Lead and support a team of four direct reports, providing direction, mentorship, performance management, and operational oversight.
Oversee daily operational activities to ensure service delivery, project execution, and customer commitments are met.
Improve and maintain efficient operational processes, workflows, and communication across the organization.
Have direct daily contact with key customers.
Customer & Relationship Management
Serve as a primary point of contact for customers, maintaining strong, trusted relationships within the industry.
Engage with customers through in-person meetings, phone, and email to support ongoing business, technical discussions, and issue resolution.
Work closely with internal teams to ensure customer needs are understood and addressed effectively.
Technical & Industry Support
Apply strong industry knowledge related to pressure and temperature control systems and chemical injection applications.
Act as a technical resource to support customer discussions, internal decision-making, and operational planning.
Provide oversight and input on systems where applicable (hands-on configuration not required).
Commercial & Sales Support
Support sales activities through customer interaction, solution discussions, and relationship management.
Assist with pricing discussions, scope clarification, and coordination between customers and internal teams.
Contribute to identifying growth opportunities within existing customer accounts.
Direct liaison with vendors in both Canada and the US.
Inventory & Supply Chain Oversight
Oversee inventory quantity management, ensuring adequate stock levels while controlling excess and obsolescence.
Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to manage lead times, availability, and procurement priorities.
Support forecasting and inventory planning aligned with operational demand.
Qualifications
Qualifications & Experience
Ideal Background
Strong experience within industrial controls, instrumentation, automation, or related process industries.
Red Seal Instrumentation Technician certification is considered a strong asset; however, candidates with deep industry knowledge and operational leadership experience will also be considered.
Proven experience managing and leading people in an operational environment.
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain long-term customer relationships.
Experience working with pressure and temperature control systems and chemical injection solutions.
Exposure to SCADA and MODBUS systems is beneficial.
