About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Graphic Design Artist who is fluent in Cantonese and Mandarin (Chinese) to join our team in Markham. The ideal candidate will bring strong conceptual design abilities and hands-on experience in apparel, headwear, gifting, and awards. This role requires creativity, attention to detail, and the ability to translate ideas into compelling visual outputs that align with brand and client needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop creative concepts, mockups, and final artwork for apparel, headwear, gifting products, and award merchandise.
- Produce visually appealing designs for print, embroidery, packaging, and various product formats.
- Work closely with product development, marketing, and production teams to ensure designs meet project requirements and brand guidelines.
- Interpret client briefs and translate them into design solutions with accuracy and creativity.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
- Prepare print-ready and production-ready files, ensuring proper specifications and technical accuracy.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders in both Cantonese and Mandarin, including overseas suppliers and partners.
- Participate in brainstorming and conceptual development sessions.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Fluent in Cantonese and Mandarin (spoken and written).
- 3+ years of professional graphic design experience in apparel, headwear, gifting and awards industries
- Strong conceptual design abilities and portfolio showcasing relevant product categories.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and other design tools as required.
- Knowledge of design specifications for embroidery, screen printing, heat transfer, engraving, and packaging.
- Excellent understanding of layout, typography, color theory, and production processes.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- High attention to detail and ability to deliver polished, market-ready designs.
- Ability to work onsite full-time in Markham from Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience collaborating with overseas suppliers, particularly in Asia.
- Familiarity with product development cycles and merchandising workflows.
- Illustration skills or hand-sketching ability is a strong asset.
- Experience in branding, logo creation, or promotional products is an advantage.
