Job Duties:

  • Determine which tools, attachments, and equipment (e.g., plows, salters, blowers, shovels) are required for each route or project, and record details on the run sheet prior to dispatch.
  • Inspect all snow removal equipment, vehicles, and tools before use to ensure they are in proper working condition. Report and document any defects or maintenance needs on the run sheet immediately.
  • Operate snow removal equipment such as loaders, skid steers, tractors, plow trucks, and walk-behind snow blowers in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Apply de-icing materials (e.g., salt, sand, brine) to parking lots, driveways, sidewalks, and pedestrian areas as directed.
  • Shovel snow manually from areas where equipment cannot reach (e.g., entrances, steps, curbs, narrow walkways), ensuring surfaces are cleared to pavement and treated with de-icer as needed.
  • Clear and pile snow safely in designated areas or load and haul off-site as required by contract specifications.
  • Perform ground maintenance and other related tasks as assigned by the Site Supervisor or Operations Manager.
  • Monitor weather conditions and be prepared to respond promptly to snow or ice events, including early morning, night, weekend, and holiday shifts as required.
  • Ensure safe transportation of all equipment to and from job sites, securing loads and following all traffic and site safety regulations.
  • Clean and refuel all vehicles, tools, and equipment at the end of each shift to maintain readiness for the next operation.
  • Follow all company health and safety policies, including use of personal protective equipment (PPE), safe lifting practices, and awareness of pedestrians and vehicles.
  • Maintain accurate and legible records, including time logs, run sheets, salt usage, and incident reports.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch, supervisors, and other crew members to ensure smooth operations and timely service.

Qualifications:

  • G class license with clean driving record
  • Ability to work extended hours
  • Mobile phone and own transportation
  • 24/7 on-call availability during the winter season.
  • Previous snow removal experience preferred.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $22.00-$34.00 per hour

Experience:

  • Snow Plowing: 2 years (required)

Licence/Certification:

  • Class G Licence (required)
