• Bachelor's Degree in Mining Engineering.

• 4 years of progressive "hands on" professional experience, with the majority in underground mining.

• Must be eligible to register as a P.Eng in Ontario.

• Experience in underground surveying, and planning is considered an asset.

• Working knowledge of mine design software is an asset (AutoCAD, Promine, Deswik).

• Significant experience with long hole and cut/fill methods of mining, with a focus on pastefill systems.

• Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint.

Your Work Schedule:

• Schedule\: 4/3 (Monday to Thursday) schedule at our Macassa Mine in Kirkland Lake, ON.

Reporting to the Ground Control Superintendent, you will be part of the Engineering Department.  You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle's values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.

• Coordinate and manage the preparation & issuing of the of the paste pour letters.

• Coordinate and manage the preparation & issuing of all paste procedures & databases.

• Stope Pour Instruction Procedure:

  • QA/QC procedure

  • UCS database

  • Plant Operation Procedure

  • Underground Paste Pour Procedure

  • Paste Barricade Design and Installation Procedure

  • Underground Paste Emergency Procedures

  • Stope turnaround tracking database

• Manage the UCS database and distribute the information.

• Highlight any non-conforming paste strengths to mine engineering.

• Ensure that the UCS database is current in the Paste Pour Strength Calculator Tool.

• Coordinate purchase and installation of underground paste reticulation.

• QA/QC on paste reticulation installation.

• Monitor paste reticulation pipe & support wear and borehole integrity.

• Manage the Stope Turnaround Tracking database and coordinate improvements.

• Prepare and manage the daily, weekly and monthly paste reports.

• Prepare and manage the daily, weekly and monthly paste production plans.

• Manage weekly paste production meetings.

• Prepare CAPEX budgets for following years.

• Issue AFEs for paste CAPEX.

• Capture and manage paste OPEX.

• Coordinate paste lab scale on site or off site test work to improve safety, costs and productivity.

• Coordinate daily paste pouring activities.

• Manage Paste System Audits.

• Research & implement paste industry best practices.
