Your New Role

As the Commercial Building Operator for this brand-new landmark commercial complex, you will be responsible for the daily operation, maintenance, and repair of critical building systems. Reporting to the Assistant Operations Manager, your role will directly impact tenant comfort, energy efficiency, and the long-term performance of the asset.

You will respond to tenant service requests, perform preventative maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, and life safety systems, and troubleshoot and operate equipment through the building automation system (BAS). You'll also play a key role in ensuring mechanical rooms remain safe and organized, and that the site's appearance reflects AAA service standards.

Your responsibilities will also include conducting chemical treatment tests, inspecting equipment, completing daily rounds/logs, and supporting emergency response protocols. You'll liaise with contractors, contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, and ensure full health and safety regulations compliance.

What Sets You Apart

You bring 2–5 years of hands-on experience operating and maintaining commercial building systems and hold a BES diploma, 3rd or 4th Class Operating Engineer certificate, or Ontario trades certification. You're confident working with BAS, comfortable reading meters and diagnostic tools, and able to perform basic mechanical repairs.

You demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, communicate effectively, and take pride in maintaining safe, clean, and efficient workspaces. You're eager to learn, comfortable working independently or as part of a team, and value providing exceptional service to tenants and colleagues.
