Job Description
In Eataly's 24-hour operating bakery, a Bread Baker is responsible for producing delicious bread and focaccia in accordance with our authentic Italian recipes. Reports to the Bakery Manager.

  • Prepares and bakes artisanal breads, focaccia, and pizzas during overnight production to ensure readiness for daily service.
  • Mixes, ferments, proofs, and bakes doughs according to established recipes and production schedules.
  • Assists with pizza preparation and dough mixing as needed.
  • Maintains a clean and sanitary production area in compliance with Department of Health standards.
  • Works towards mastering all stages of overnight bakery and pizza production.
  • Collaborates closely with the team to ensure consistency, efficiency, and product quality across shifts.
  • Assists Sales Associates when needed and engages with guests interested in learning about bread and pizza production.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ year of experience in a baker preparation position
  • Basic math and measuring skills
  • Good work ethic, communication and time management skills
  • Post-secondary culinary program highly preferred

Job Requirements

  • Availability to work onsite with an flexible schedule including overnights, evenings and weekends
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours, including standing, walking, bending and squatting
