Job Title: Technical Support / Desktop Support Analyst
Location: Edmonton, AB (Onsite)
Contract Duration: 6 months (with possibility of extension)
Job Overview:
We are seeking a reliable and customer-focused
Technical Support / Desktop Support Analyst
to provide onsite IT support to end users for our client in Edmonton. The successful candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting hardware, software, and network-related issues, ensuring smooth day-to-day IT operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide onsite Tier 1 and Tier 2 technical support to end users
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and peripherals
- Install, configure, and maintain Windows operating systems and standard business applications
- Support Microsoft 365, Outlook, Teams, and basic Active Directory tasks (password resets, account management)
- Set up new user workstations, including hardware imaging and software installation
- Document incidents, requests, and resolutions using a ticketing system
- Escalate complex technical issues to higher-level support teams as required
- Follow IT policies, procedures, and security standards
Required Qualifications:
- 4+ years of experience in Technical Support or Desktop Support roles
- Strong knowledge of Windows 10/11 operating systems
- Experience with Microsoft 365 and Active Directory
- Familiarity with hardware troubleshooting (PCs, laptops, printers)
- Experience using IT service management tools (ServiceNow or similar)
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently in an onsite environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting enterprise environments
- Knowledge of basic networking concepts (TCP/IP, VPN, Wi-Fi)
- IT certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft certifications
