Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Fitness Manager to oversee the daily operations of our fitness facility. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, exceptional customer service abilities, and a comprehensive understanding of retail and fitness management. This role involves managing staff, coordinating programs, and ensuring an outstanding experience for our members. The Fitness Manager will play a key role in driving membership growth, maintaining facility standards, and fostering a motivating environment for both staff and clients.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise fitness staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations
- Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote the facility's services and programs
- Manage sales activities, including retail sales, membership sales, and upselling services
- Oversee store management functions such as merchandising, pricing, and inventory purchasing
- Handle customer service inquiries, resolve issues promptly, and ensure member satisfaction
- Manage payroll, bookkeeping, budgeting, and administrative tasks to ensure smooth operations
- Coordinate training & development programs for staff to enhance their skills and knowledge
- Conduct interviews for prospective employees and participate in team recruitment efforts
- Maintain POS systems and oversee cashiering activities with accuracy and professionalism
- Implement promotional campaigns using effective communication skills and marketing techniques
- Monitor sales management metrics to meet or exceed performance targets
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and uphold cleanliness and organization within the facility
Qualifications
- Proven supervising experience in retail or fitness management roles
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively
- Excellent communication skills, including phone etiquette and organizational abilities
- Bilingual or multilingual capabilities are preferred to serve diverse clientele
- Experience in recruiting, training & development, payroll processing, and budgeting
- Proficiency with POS systems, merchandising tools, cash handling, and store management software
- Customer service-oriented mindset with excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Administrative experience with bookkeeping or financial recordkeeping is advantageous
- Strong math skills for pricing strategies and sales analysis
