We're excited to launch a new state-of-the-art robotic homebuilding plant in partnership with several large homebuilders within the Greater Calgary Region. Powered by Promise Robotics' transformative production lines for timber-based panelized construction, the new plant enables our group of homebuilding partners to significantly increase the capacity and speed of home production within the fast-growing region of Calgary, AB.

We're looking for an Operations Coordinator to join our team to help with leading our health & Safety initiatives, local events, and general facilities management for our Calgary location. This role will be the main point of contact for the facility and involves ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of our Calgary facility including managing and updating health & Safety policies/procedures, administrative tasks, coordinating office activities such as event planning, preparing for customer visits, and supporting the team to ensure a smooth and efficient work environment.

What you will do:
  • Own the administration & maintenance of our H&S platform (SafeSphere) company wide. Ensuring everyone is up to date with training by doing regular audits and assigning training as required.
  • Work with our Health & Safety Consultant to ensure all policies and procedures are kept updated.
  • Participate/Lead the JHSC meetings, taking meeting minutes.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations. Maintaining an up-to-date H&S employee board in the plant.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits of facility to identify hazards and implement corrective actions.
  • Oversee the security and emergency preparedness of the facility. Perform ad hoc drills as required for compliance.
  • Assist with HR-related tasks such as onboarding new employees by assisting with orientation, account set up, providing building access fobs, conducting the health & safety presentation and touring the new employees.
  • Coordinate office activities, including meetings, events, and appointments.
  • Maintain a customer-ready state in the office and factory space.
  • Greet visitors and contact appropriate staff as needed.
  • Maintain office supplies and equipment to ensure proper functioning.
  • Oversee facility management including managing key fob access, planning and management of factory and office maintenance programs, preventive maintenance, and repairs.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to facility management.
  • Ensure contractors working in our facility have completed all requisite documentation.
  • Contact for construction related warranty calls, and coordinate resolution with Offsite Construction Manager.
  • Other duties as assigned.
What you will need to succeed:
  • Post secondary in Health & Safety, Administration, or related program is an asset
  • 2-5 years equivalent combination of education and experience in HSE, facilities, and/or manufacturing operations related to facilities and/or HSE.
  • Strong knowledge of the Occupational Health & Safety Act and other governing body regulations; proven experience building and executing on a successful Health & Safety strategy.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency in office software and equipment, including MS Office Suite.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills are critical for this role.
  • Valid CPR and First Aid certifications is an asset
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Proven experience in office/facilities management or a related role.
  • Good understanding or willing to learn and grasp of health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
    Flexibility to respond to emergencies and work outside of regular hours when needed.
