Shift: Monday-Friday 7am-3:30pm

ResponsibilitiesYour duties will include operating various types of heavy equipment (e.g., loaders, overhead cranes, and shunt trucks) to support the safe and efficient loading and unloading of commodities from trucks and/or railcars.
Major Responsibilities
- Unloading steel products from railcars/trucks with various heavy equipment.
- Support inventory control with accurate documentation.
- Accurately verify weight information off manifest to not exceed limit and document inventory.
- Perform routine maintenance on vehicles and auxiliary equipment.
- Provide production data on tags or labels.
- Work in adherence to all safe work practices, procedures, as well as all regulatory requirements.
- Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of yard, shop, department, or work crew.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor/manager.
- Previous relevant experience required and previous equipment certifications and appropriate safety training certificates preferred.
- Experience loading/unloading flat deck trailers with Beam, Channel , Plate and Tubing.
- Experience with routine maintenance operations
- Strong safety mindset
- Quality oriented and strong attention to detail.
- Needs to be responsible, accountable and dependable
- Demonstrates strong communication skills both verbally and written
- Strong work ethic and positive team attitude
- Exceptionally high level of hand-eye coordination.
- Ability to work outside in all weather conditions (snow, rain, sub-freezing temps, heat, wind)
- Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment
- Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule
- Experience working with computers is an asset
- Can carry at least 50 lbs and swing a 10 lbs sledge hammer
- Good physical condition
