Our Human Resources Program group is looking for someone to join our team and support our L&D Team. Could this position be for you?

As a member of the Human Resources team, your primary function would be to create effective, engaging, and accessible learning experiences by developing and delivering learning programs. This involves applying adult learning principles to support learners in achieving specific outcomes. You would be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of learning content at TRIUMF supporting technical, safety, and behavioural needs.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Curriculum and Instructional Design

  • Conduct needs assessments to identify learning gaps and recommend effective solutions
  • Develop learning objectives aligned with organizational or educational goals
  • Design course structures, lesson plans, and assessments
  • Select appropriate instructional strategies (e.g., eLearning, blended learning)

2. Content Development

  • Translate complex information into accessible, outcome-driven learning experiences
  • Create or curate multimedia learning materials
  • Ensure content is inclusive, accessible, and pedagogically sound

3. Technology Integration

  • Stay on top of current trends and technologies in their field and apply these in their work 
  • Use and administer learning management systems (LMS) and authoring tools (e.g., Articulate, Adobe Captivate)
  • Incorporate interactive elements
  • Promote use of learning resources and tools 

4. Learner Experience Design

  • Focus on user-centered design to enhance engagement and retention
  • Apply UX principles to digital learning environments

5. Evaluation and Improvement

  • Analyze learner feedback and performance data
  • Revise and improve learning experiences based on evidence

6. Collaboration

  • Partner with subject matter experts (SMEs) to design and develop engaging, learner-focused content
  • Facilitate behavioral skills training sessions related to the TRIUMF Leadership Development Program
  • Coordinate logistics and support delivery of learning workshops and online events including vendor-provided programs

Skills & Experience:

  • 3 to 5 years of experience developing and delivering learning content for adults, preferably in a large organizational setting
  • Proven ability to apply adult learning principles to various delivery formats
  • Requires a broad range of experience and knowledge in the field of adult learning and/or coaching
  • Experience in leadership development program coordination
  • Hands-on experience with LMS platforms such as Workday
  • High level of proficiency with e-learning authoring tools such as Articulate 360 and Adobe Captivate
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a sharp eye for detail
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities with a focus on outcomes, ownership, and accountability
  • Knowledge of project management practices is an asset

Education & Certifications:

  • A degree in Education, Sociology, Business Administration, or Organizational Development, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Additional adult learning certificate, CTP, CTDP or other instructional designation is an asset

This position offers a hybrid work model that combines the convenience of working remotely with the dynamism of working in our office.

Applicants must be legally able to work in Canada on a permanent basis (Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident).

Salary: $74,630.00 CAD plus our comprehensive employer-paid benefits plan
