The Construction Site Superintendent plays a pivotal role in ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standard of quality and workmanship. This position requires a hands-on leader with a deep understanding of civil construction, safety compliance, and effective team coordination.
Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Construction Site Superintendent to oversee and manage civil construction projects from inception to completion. The successful candidate will ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, within budget, and in full compliance with contract specifications and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise, coordinate, and direct daily construction activities in strict accordance with project plans, engineering drawings, specifications, and company standards.
- Ensure full compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations for all site personnel and subcontractors.
- Maintain comprehensive daily documentation, including project journals, safety records, and maintenance logs.
- Enforce project safety and quality-control policies and ensure consistent adherence by all parties.
- Plan and coordinate manpower, equipment, materials, and subcontractor activities to ensure efficient project execution.
- Review and interpret engineering drawings and specifications; ensure construction work is executed as per approved plans.
- Collaborate closely with Project Managers and Project Coordinators to identify and resolve design conflicts, unforeseen site conditions, or documentation discrepancies.
- Monitor site progress to ensure compliance with owner standards, design intent, and contractual requirements.
- Participate in project meetings with internal and external stakeholders to review progress, resolve issues, and support project objectives.
- Review cost reports with Project Managers to identify variances, implement corrective actions, and maintain budget compliance.
- Foster strong relationships with owners, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers to support smooth project delivery.
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Construction Manager or Senior Management.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or construction management with Civil experience.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in civil construction, including site supervision in British Columbia
- Strong ability to read, interpret, and execute engineering drawings and technical plans.
- Must be able to speak English, Punjabi and/or Hindi fluently.
- Comprehensive understanding of construction methods, sequencing, and best practices.
- Proven leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and guide diverse site teams.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with strong interpersonal and negotiation abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe applications.
- Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making abilities.
- Exceptional organizational and time-management skills; ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.

Pay: $88,687.45-$120,876.09 per year
