Pay: 26.00 to 32.00 per hour based on experience. Premium pay is added during snow removal shifts.
Haliscape Construction is hiring dependable and skilled heavy equipment operators for steady year round work with premium pay during winter snow events. This role includes operating excavators, loaders, and skid steers for landscaping, site preparation, and winter snow removal across West Bedford, Dartmouth, and other areas in HRM.
This is a full time and permanent position with consistent hours, year round employment, and added pay during winter snow events.
About the role
We are looking for a reliable Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team. This position offers year round employment with added pay during winter snow events. You will operate heavy equipment for residential landscaping and site preparation, as well as commercial snow clearing during winter storms.
Key responsibilities
- Operate excavators, loaders, and skid steers for grading, trenching, loading, and site preparation
- Complete daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance
- Respond to snow events and operate equipment to clear snow and apply salt
- Assist with ground level snow removal such as shoveling, salting, and clearing walkways
- Support the crew with general labour tasks including raking, shoveling, and job site cleanup
- Maintain a safe and organized job site at all times
Qualifications
- At least 2 years of experience operating excavators, loaders, or skid steers
- Snow removal or winter equipment experience is an asset
- Valid Class 5 drivers licence and reliable transportation
- Job sites are not accessible by public transit
- Physically fit and able to lift up to 55 pounds
- Dependable and punctual with strong attention to safety
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions including winter storms

Working conditions
