NordSpace ) is a Canadian startup with the mission to develop Canada's first sovereign space launch and end-to-end space missions capability. With divisions ranging from rocket propulsion and spaceports, to satellite development and planetary robotics, NordSpace is driven to do everything it takes to bring space closer to Earth. As a Composites Manufacturing Specialist at NordSpace, you will primarily be working on manufacturing composite pressure vessels (COPVs) using a variety of techniques and materials, at very large scales. Experience with robotic manufacturing, in particular automated fiber placement (AFP) will be a considerable advantage.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in fabrication and manufacturing of composite parts
- Significant experience designing and building mechanical systems, ideally with a portfolio of personal projects
- Significant experience with fabricating mechanical systems with machining tools such as lathes, mills, CNCs, 3D printers, welders and with materials such as metal tubes and sheets, carbon fiber, and plastics
- Significant knowledge of and deep passion for the space industry at large
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to conduct independent research
- Excellent English communication skills
- Excellent project management skills
This is a full-time in-person role at our head office in Markham
