With divisions ranging from rocket propulsion and spaceports, to satellite development and planetary robotics, NordSpace is driven to do everything it takes to bring space closer to Earth. As a Composites Manufacturing Specialist at NordSpace, you will primarily be working on manufacturing composite pressure vessels (COPVs) using a variety of techniques and materials, at very large scales. Experience with robotic manufacturing, in particular automated fiber placement (AFP) will be a considerable advantage.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in fabrication and manufacturing of composite parts
  • Significant experience designing and building mechanical systems, ideally with a portfolio of personal projects
  • Significant experience with fabricating mechanical systems with machining tools such as lathes, mills, CNCs, 3D printers, welders and with materials such as metal tubes and sheets, carbon fiber, and plastics
  • Significant knowledge of and deep passion for the space industry at large
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to conduct independent research
  • Excellent English communication skills
  • Excellent project management skills

This is a full-time in-person role at our head office in Markham
