Overview
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Truck and Coach Technician (or Apprentice), an Automotive Technician (or Apprentice).
The entry-level position is ideal for individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in the Truck and Coach and Automotive repair industry.
As an Apprentice, you will work under the guidance of experienced technicians, learning essential skills and techniques necessary for a successful career in Truck and Coach and Automotive repair industry. This role offers the opportunity to develop your mechanical abilities while working with a variety of vehicles and equipment.
Responsibilities
- Diagnosing and repairing automotive systems, including electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic components with minimal supervision while demonstrating the ability to operate equipment and tools involved with repairs.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections.
- Communicate servicing needs as required with Supervisor/Manager.
- Communicate work performed and complete service paperwork.
- Service vehicles according to established preventative maintenance schedule. rotate and balance tires; change oil and filters; lubricate vehicle/equipment parts; inspect and replace hoses, belts, mirrors, lamps; and maintain all fluid levels.
- Utilize hand tools and diagnostic equipment to support experienced technicians in completing repairs efficiently.
- Learn to read and interpret schematics related to automotive systems and components.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance your knowledge of automotive repair techniques and safety practices.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring that tools and equipment are properly stored after use to keep in safe operating condition.
- Collaborate with team members on various projects, including repairs on machinery or heavy equipment.
Skills
- Basic understanding of automotive repair principles and practices.
- Familiarity with electrical systems and ability to read schematics is a plus.
- Proficiency in using hand tools and diagnostic equipment effectively.
- Willingness to learn about various types of machinery, including cranes.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to dig deep into complex issues.
- A passion for mechanics and a desire to grow within the automotive industry.
- Welding skills are beneficial but not required; willingness to learn is essential.
