We're looking for our next Benefits Specialist. Could It Be You?
The Benefits Specialist will provide day-to-day administrative support to the Total Rewards team, including processing benefits transactions and providing professional and quality customer service to employees of Questrade.
As a member of the Total Rewards team, the Benefits Specialist will play an active role in both the team and within the broader organization. The Benefits Specialist is responsible for managing employee benefits programs, with a strong focus on full‑cycle disability and accommodation administration. From overseeing enrollment, terminations, and changes to leading benefits information sessions, the Benefits Specialist ensures a positive employee experience at every touchpoint.

In this role, responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Administer disability and accommodation cases end‑to‑end, including intake, coordination with internal and external stakeholders, and follow‑up
- Conduct audits of disability and accommodation cases to ensure consistency and compliance
- Process benefits transactions for new hires, transfers, changes, and terminations
- Perform HRIS feed checks, audits, and monthly reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Manage and maintain internal trackers with timely updates and documentation
- Advise and assist employees with benefits, coverage, and leave of absence queries
- Liaise with brokers and insurance carriers to resolve employee inquiries promptly
- Maintain the Benefits Google Site, ensuring information is current and relevant
- Facilitate new hire enrollment sessions and conduct monthly benefits information sessions for employees
- Contribute to a collaborative, high‑performing Total Rewards team
- Perform other duties as assigned

- Have a post‑secondary diploma or degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
- Have a minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a Benefits Specialist or in a similar HR/benefits role
- Have at least 2 years of customer service experience, with a strong focus on delivering a positive employee experience
- Have exceptional verbal and written communication skills; able to explain complex benefits and disability processes clearly
- Have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and interact effectively with employees, managers & external stakeholders
- Have critical thinking and problem‑solving ability with high attention to detail, accuracy, and compliance in benefits administration
- Are a collaborative team player who works independently with accountability for end‑to‑end processes
- Have a proactive mindset with initiative, urgency, and follow‑through on time‑sensitive disability, accommodation, and LOA cases
- Are highly organized and reliable, consistently delivering quality work within deadlines
- Are skilled at managing multiple priorities, including reconciliations checks, LOA trackers, HRIS feed checks, and audits
- Have effective prioritization and follow‑up under pressure while maintaining accuracy and professionalism
- Have the ability to maintain strict confidentiality when handling sensitive employee information
- Have strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with comfort in data reconciliation and reporting
- Have proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets for benefits tracking and analysis
- Have familiarity with Ceridian Dayforce, Google Suite, and MS Office products

Compensation Information:
- Base salary range: $63,000 - $68,000
- The final compensation package will be commensurated with the successful candidate's experience, skills, and geographic location (Canada). It includes a comprehensive benefits plan and a competitive incentive (bonus) program for Full-Time Permanent roles.
