More specifically, we manufacture complete lines for architectural lighting, hospitality and retail verticals, office and commercial space, high rise residentials and more. Located in the vicinity of the high-tech hub in the Greater Toronto Area, Liteline operates a 160,000 sq. ft. office, manufacturing and warehouse distribution facility. With over 140 employees, Liteline is poised for strategic growth for years to come.

We are seeking a detailed-oriented General Accountant to assist in managing the day-to-day accounting and financial activities of our organization. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies.

The General Accountant reports directly to the Accounting Manager and will be mainly responsible for the following.

  • Assist with income statement account analysis as part of monthly financial reporting.
  • Calculate and process commission payments for outside sales representatives (monthly) and internal employees (annually).
  • Prepare and post recurring and ad-hoc journal entries for multiple group entities.
  • Support month-end close processes, including bank reconciliations and journal entry postings.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Participate in monthly inventory reconciliation and variance analysis.
  • Reconcile intercompany sales and purchases and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Calculate rebates accurately on a monthly, quarterly, or annual basis, as applicable.
  • Monitor and analyze accounting data to support the preparation of accurate financial reports.
  • Provide backup support for Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions.
  • Additional duties and responsibilities may be added or modified as required throughout the course of your employment.

Requirements:

  • Completion of post-secondary education in accounting
  • Proven experience of 1 to 2 years in accounting
  • Proficiency in any accounting software, Microsoft Dynamics NAV will be added advantage
  • Excellent MS Excel skills and experience with data analysis.
  • Strong attention to detail and organization skills.
  • Results driven and can work in a fast-paced environment.
