Parksville BC VP J, Canada The Molnar Group Full time $32,000 - $40,000 per year

We currently have two buildings under construction for a 142 unit apartment complex in Parksville. We are seeking an experienced construction labourer.

The Molnar Group is a well-respected and established real estate investment and development company with over 55 years of experience in the industry

Responsibilities

  • Clean up worksites from debris, hazardous or obsolete material and machinery
  • Assist welders, carpenters, painters or other tradespeople on-site
  • Handle and transport materials (e.g. cement) and equipment (e.g. drills and grinders)
  • Use power tools and machinery (e.g. forklifts) when needed
  • Follow instructions from supervisors to perform manual labor tasks (e.g. digging, stacking up goods)
  • Put up warning signs (e.g. signposts, cones) for vehicles and passersby
  • Help with setting up and transferring temporary structures (e.g. scaffolding)
  • Report issues with equipment or unsafe conditions
  • Maintain all safety standards

Requirements

  • Basic carpentry skills
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the job (standing for long periods of time, lifting heavy loads of up to 40 pounds etc.)
  • Good hand-eye coordination
  • Familiarity with power tools and machinery is a plus
  • Communication and teamwork skills
  • Commitment to safety rules
  • Apprenticeship or specialization is an asset, but not necessary
  • Must have vehicle to work at both locations in downtown Nanaimo and Parksville
  • Must be willing to work in inclement weather conditions on site

Preference will be given to local candidates and candidates with construction site experience. Only candidates currently eligible to work in Canada will be reviewed.
